7.3 Newbie Here: Oil leak help
Ok.
I've googled, searched this forum, asked Ford, several diesel shops in the area and 4 wheel parts looking for an answer but I have failed. I have an oil leak, that appears to be coming from the intake manifold specifically at the silicone boot on the manifold elbow. I have come to understand that this is a typical problem for the 7.3L, but what I can't seem to locate is a way to properly fix it. I spent over $500 with Ford, having all of the silicone joints replace and purchased T-bolt clamps before I learned that this would be a temporary fix to a permanent problem The truck is a 2003 PSD ECSB the only mods are a Air Raid intake, 4" MBRP turbo back and a SCT flash tuner that the previous owner lost. I am currently evaluating tuners and believe I'm going to get the Edge CTS after a very expensive trip to the ford house to flash the PCM/ECU (whatever its called) back to stock. Let me be clear, this truck is very dear to me so I want the correct solution. I'm not saying that cost is not a factor, but I'll do whatever it takes to make it happen for this truck. My question is this: HOW DO I STOP THIS OIL LEAK?! New Manifold? New Piping kit? Free Tech Tip? I'm already tired of the black spot that is growing in the driveway. Thanks, Technyne Last edited by Technyne; 01-31-2011 at 05:12 AM. |
