Pouring Diesel

Went to start the truck today, its 9°. It started up just fine without being plugged in, my problem is i noticed as i was walking back inside that it was pouring diesel out, so i popped the hood, and noticed that the ring of the fuel filter cap was went, so was the valley, and down the back of the FF housing.....What are yall thinking? I changed my fuel filter last week, but it hasnt leaked in over 500 miles?

well turned out that the fuel filter cap had a casting flaw in it, sparying a tiny stream of diesel out.
