bad mpgs?

i cant figure out why my truck would be getting such bad gas mileage. runs great but just seems i cant drive anywhere b4 its on empty again. and ideas or suggestions of what i can do. its a early 99 7.3 mods include bully dog chip k&n drop in filter, full 4" exhaust, and prob a few other things im not sure about. thanks for any help

What were you getting for mileage before versus current? I was getting around 17 this summer and now I'm down to 14. But I'm in central Michigan and I contribute a large amount of the decrease to warm up/high idle time and anti-gelling additives in the fuel.

well i just bought the truck a few months ago and pretty much just now got it going. had fuel leak, and a few other problems took a 6" lift off and put a 4" and im just now starting to drive it some it cant be getting better than 12. i just feel it should be getting better

i just drove mine 200 miles on the freeway with my econo tune on, I only got 10.4 mpg???? wtf so frustrating

for real thats how i feel. i havnt actually checked the mpgs but have only drove 200 and something miles and im bearly above 1/4 tank. i thought my gas 250 was bad but now its feeling like the gas got a little better

Not a whole lot can be done here. Winter fuel blends are about 20% less efficient so mileage will go down. Any lift will decrease fuel mileage as well.

What size tires are you running?

35 12.50s . but i did play in the snow some so i know that hurt it some but still figured it would be getting better than a 5.4 f250 i had.

yup, those tires will cut back on mileage. Are you sure your speedo is correct? Have you compensated for tire size?

my 6.0 has the same problem i bought it back in august and was getting 20 atleast now im down to around 13 or 14. i just made myself a winter cover for the radiator today out of some heavy canvas tarp because i couldnt keep it warm and couldnt justify $150 winter front for it. ill post back later this week and ill let you know if it got any better.
