Question 7.3 wont start after oil and trans filter change! PLEASE HELP!

Just got our Diesel about a month ago.. LOVE IT!!! Soo... My Husband changed the oil and the transmission filter in our 2001 F350 Powerstroke. It had been up on the jack stands for about 2 days. (Dont know if that's relavent) He did not fill the Oil Filter with oil first.. I've just read that that's not good. Filled the engine with oil and put the filter and pan back on the bottom of the transmission, filled it. Tried to start it today and it cranked over.. Ran for about 4 seconds and completely shut off. Turned over and tried to run about 5 more times but wouldnt actually start. Then it wouldnt even try.. Not hardly a click. During this.. The passenger headlight burnt out and when I clicked the key on, the speakers popped on and off. Thinking that maybe there's air in the lines from not filling the oil and the truck has some sort of a saftey feature because of this??? We also unhooked both of the batteries completely just incase it was an anti-theft feature but no go... Very frustrated and confused. Any input/help will be much appriciated!

If it's to low on oil. The injectors will not fire. I would check the oil level.

As others have stated, check the oil level. The truck takes @ 15 quarts for oil change. Just curious, what oil did he use? Also sounds like maybe low batteries. Leave anything on when on stands for 2 days?

Put in 12qts, mobil delvac and 2 qts lucas. The starter won't even click, batteries are good. Will turn over if we jump the solenoid. Could it be the ignition switch maybe nuetral safety switch?

LUCAS??? Thats not good. It will cause foaming of the oil and your HPO system will not function correctly.

Edit: I would check the fuses for ignition system to start the diagnostics on your no crank situation.

Got her started.. Had to clean out and lubricate the Neutral Saftey Switch, underneath the truck.
Never heard of Lucas doing that... Is that a common problem with Lucas? We've got her running now so she'll bleed the air out of the lines.

Once you get the air out of the lines and she's running good, check your oil level. I counted 12qts oil / 2 quarts Lucas = 14 qts. These PSDs take 15 qts.

I didn't fill the filter the first time I changed the oil myself. Scared the bajeebers out of me when it started, but started running slower. Fortunately for me, it got oil in the filter and the pressure back up before it died. I'll definitely not do that again.
