Unhappy Questions about glowplugs

Well I just got done reading some of the issues of glow plugs during the winter...I was a good boy and used the search button function... Well I still have a few questions..As of yesterday I had my injector sleeves replaced Man I missed my truck.. Well yesterday i drove it like a bat out of hell and it drove great all day.. Well this morning I go out to start my truck (18*) and it tries like when the batteries are dead.. But onces it starts there are no issues till cooled down. It also takes a while to crank so after some reading I need a way to check it out so I found this... Troubleshooting GPR & GP's ... which is NCs write up on checking glow plugs and their relays.. The questions i have is that I do not have a volt meter and test light.. But what is the percentage likely that it is the relay and not the glow plugs them selfs.. and would it be a good choice to upgrade the relay with the stancore unit.
