Alternator light on but still running

Alternator light staying on but truck continues to run, no dim lights or anything. Drove two hundred miles at night running heater and lights with no issues. truck started fine next morning in the cold. Any ideas???

IDK.. but i would check the alternator output. If its not low... it could be too high.

i had a similar problem, i drove mine like that for about a week and a half and never had a problem starting in 20-30 degree weather, but mine would go a couple days and stay on solid, but then the next day flicker on and off, and my voltage gauge was reading normal, eventually one day i noticed i started loosing a charge and replaced my alternator, that fixed it, but it did take almost two weeks before it got to that point where it had to be replaced. hope that helps.
