2002 f-250 7.3 Concern

I am looking at buying an 02 f-250 7.3. I know the 7.3 engines are legendary, but when looking online I have found that out of all the 7.3's the 02's have the worst reviews in the engine category. If anyone has experience or knowledge on the truth of this matter your input would be greatly appreciated. I just don't want to get stuck with a bad year. Thank you.

theres really no bad year for a 7.3. the early models had forged rods instead of cast, unless your going to built a high H.P. engine it wont be a concern. other than that there shouldnt be any reason to not get it.

ive got an 02 and love it,its got a 7.3 and a better interior than the previous years in my opinion and a cleaner dash. just like the other folks said if your going for monster hp its got pmrs that limit you to like 400-500hp i think but even some of the previous years have pmrs
