Cold Weather Problem
I have a 1996 F250 7.3L Powerstroke. During cold weather, at least that is when I notice this problem the most, my truck will make what I describe as a vaccum sound and the engine has some power loss. I can have this happen right at start up and after letting the truck warm up. I can drive hundreds of miles and not have this problem, but when I stop and restart, it happens. It is like the truck does not want to shift? EGR valve? I was told the 7.3L does not have one? Any help would be great. Thanks

Definitely sounds like the EBPV to me. Just unplug it. The connector is on the right side of the turbo.
