Help with error codes....
Well I have a 2000 Excursion with Napa filter mod, Magnaflow 4", and Superchips tuner. I have had code # P0603 Int Cntrl Mod KAM error on but it had not kicked the SES light. Today after work the SES light came on. It had the P0603 cade and the following....P0672, P0674, P0676, and P0678 Glow Plug 2,4,6,8 Circuit Failure.....Does andone know what all of these codes mean and a possible fix? Thanks, Ashby.

those codes are for all of your drivers side glow plugs. i would check all the electrical connections very thouroghly, and then measure the resistance of all the glow plugs as described in the tech files. if all this checks out OK, my suspition would be your Glow Plug Controll Module has gone bad. the pinpoint test for this is very long and drawn out so it would be tough for me to talk you through the diag, but im suspecting that is what your problem will end up being.......Marc

I was wondering if the #2,4,6,8 were all on one side. I have read a few posts like mine where the codes were the same. Too bad the pep's never said how they fixed the prob....I'll try to figure it out and post back. Thanks, Ashby.

your truck doesnt have the simple relay system though....the excursions have a module that monitors the systems........just in case some diesel head that deals mainly in pickups trys to help you at all.......Marc

Why would International or Ford do that? It is still the same engine so why not make diagnostics and such the same. Maybe there is a good reason for it, but sometimes I wonder.

Well the harness that goes into the valve cover has 9 wires on the flat plug...
I guess 4 injector 4 glow plug and maybe 1 for the module? What is the best way to diagnose the code on this system? |
