engine died

i have a 2003 7.3. while going down the road today the engine just lost power and sounded like it started missing really bad. i killed it quickly and checked the oil and everything out. all was good. i tried restarting it but it just spins over without trying to crank at all... any ideas?

A few common things might be....

Do you have a spare CPS to try? (they'll do that to ya, die while running down the road but, will often restart after a rest)

Does the WTS light come on? (shows the computer is running)

Is there fuel in the fuel bowl now? (open the drain level to check)

Could the fuel gauge be giving a bad reading? (are you close to empty?)
