7.3 runs like crap-smoky
i have a 1999.5 7.3 and when i start it it smokes excessively blue/white. Even after its warm it hazes white smoke and when accelerating in the bottom end it does a big puff. I just replaced the injectors and the glow plugs are good. i know my exhaust backpressure sensor is not hooked up ( line rusted out) and i have a new one coming. Could this be the problem? Also it seemes to run a lot better with the superchips installed.... any ideas????

it will run better when you advance things wth thwe superchip...the smoke is most likely unburnt fuel,do you have excessive blow by??? check by turning your oil filler cap over and placing it on the oil filler hole...if it jumps off,you have problems...you say you did all new injector o-rings/injectors.how many miles? if high milage, prolly need to pressure test the cups, compression test...
how many miles???? |

keep me posted here. mine is doing the same as of yesterday. but the smoke comes and goes along with the hedonist punch of the throttle. like there is a slight miss then it is gone and no smoke till morning then smoke again till wormed up.
