Overdrive Switch not working

In addition to previous post this evening, I wanted to about overdrive switcvh on gear shifter.

When I push button, no overdrive disengages. I have checked fuse, and it is good.

Any suggestions on what to check next?

Thanks for the help.

The wire for the switch that is in the column is most likely cut/broken/chaffed. You can buy a whole new shifter for about $58 from the dealer. This is a common problem. Check to make sure that is the problem before buying the new shifter though.

yep, if the fuse is good, and od switch dont work, then the wire is broken at the bottom of the gear slector. mine was like that and was like $60-80 from ford to replace. heres the part number to search online to find it cheaper.

Thank you for the help, and it was the gear shifter wire gone bad. Replaced and works great. Now, I just need to find the oil leak. Some threads for others have given me a good place to start.
