1999 PSD died at 45mph and won't start.

Hey all. Been reading a lot of threads and just want to throw this out there. I was cruising along Saturday and my truck lost all power running at about 45mph. Felt like I ran out of fuel but the gage indicated otherwise. Checked the filter bowl(sorry don't know part name) for fuel and good. Never got it started so had towed. The only code I could pull is 1280. I saw a few posts that gave some pointers on checking the ICP sensor so I will check tonight. Tell me if I am wrong but shouldn't it still attempt to start and run even if the ICP sensor is bad. I am just worried my wallet is going to get hit hard on this one. By the way 210000miles. Thanks, Chad

might be the camshaft position sensor, and there should be a recall on it. call your local dealership and give them your vin, and they will tell you if it's covered under the recall, but you'll probably have to get it down there on your own dime

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I replaced the cam position sensor on the side of the road. Didn't change anything.

The ICP sensor had oil in the connection so it was bad. I still cannot get the truck to start. The other code is P0470 but other posts seem to indicate that is a small prob. Any other suggestions. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Problem fixed. I originally changed the cam position sensor on the side of the road. The new one from OReilly was bad. Thanks again to them. So it was just the ICP sensor originally.
