01 7.3 Turbo housing backplate cracks

Hello all,
I was removing my turbo and pedestal to replace oil seals and install a Banks compressor wheel. When I removed the compressor housing I notice some cracks in one part of the housing back plate and some on the back side where the O ring sits, they look superficial but without NDI hard to tell. I was wondering if this is of concern or not I can post pics if needed. I also had quite alot of oil residue build up on the inside of the compressor housing, is this from bad seals and/or bearings on the shaft?
