BLOW BY QUESTION - 2000 F-450 7.3L POWERSTROKE
I just bought 7 trucks over the weekend and all well in the money but have a little issue with one of them.
2000 F-450 crew cab flatbed, 7.3L POWERSTROKE, 6 speed tranny and 171-k miles. Truck starts up and runs fine, drives good, but does have BLOW BY! Yes, more than just you normal stream coming up. Seems like it is pumping, not enough to smoke you out but it is there. Is there something simple to check out of fix without having to go into the engine? Not interested in a tear down, only give 4-k for the truck but I bought them to resale not to keep. |

I have been reading so older post and seems like my maybe close to normal for the most part. I did the oil cap deal where you flip it upside down and the only thing that happens is it falls off after a few second from the motor moving (not being blown off) And I am NOT getting oil in or on the air filter or intake hose. |

compression test is really the only way to tell how bad it is.
