Died after washing motor

OK, decided to wash my truck, So i partially washed the engine compartment. And it cranked up no problem, So i cleaned out the inside of the Truck. Got back in it to leave And it carnked up than died. I tried fro 30 min. Nothing just acting like it want to but no cranky. I had to walk to store for starting fluid, Hated to do that but i wasn't home But after i sprayed taht in it cranked up and haven't had a problem since. Wonder what could of gotten wet????
