Extreme throttle sensitivity
I have this reoccurring situation...I posted about it before but it stopped for a while and is back again.
PROBLEM: extreme sensitivity to throttle position only in the first inch or so of throttle movement. Its like this , I just barely step on the throttle from idle like when rolling slow or accelerating from a stop and the truck is very jumpy in RPM response and acceleration...like there is alot of HP waiting to be opened up under small throttle positions. Watching the Tach the RPM comes up unnaturally(non linear to pedal travel) and the truck lurches forward.
When it doesnt exeude this condition the Throttle movement is very nice and linear to acceleration response...
Conditions: It happens cold, hot, full op temp ..nothing as far as external conditions makes a difference.
I am running the truck in the STOCK program from my 1705 Superchips tuner. It also demonstrates the same issue in the tow haul mode or the performance tune.so I dont think it is the tuner unless by swapping the tunes back and forth some code got corrupted...I just dont know.
Oil is fresh, no water in Filter bowl, good fuel with stanadyne in it at all times, solid running always other than this intermittant issue..
IT FEELS LIKE a throttle position sensor is giving bad signals out...but I had the truck at the dealer and he hooked up his diagnostic computer and told me all parameters were good like injector pressure , timing.....all of them....( he didnt like the 0603 code tripped from the tuner and I KNOW he wants to blame it on my superchips tuner) but how can that be when the truck does it on STOCK tune??
What else do you guys think I should check?
Thanks for your help
