engine missin
Got a question I have a 96 f-250 with 145,000 on it I have 4inch exhaust turbo back bully dog air intake and a superchip I'm running it on tow performace and not pullin anything it has started cutting out you can be going down the road and it will cut out more less missing then I was over at a friends house and left it idle and it just shut off by itself thought maybe it could be the cam sensor on the wiring harrness under the valve covers it does'nt do it all the time no check engine light and no codes any suggestions on this thanks for your time.

From the reading I've observed on this forum, sounds like the Cam sensor. I haven't had one go yet so I don;t know for sure. Some one will be here soon to give a more positive answer.

It sounds like we have the same problem. Mine is a -95 with 150K. Once in a while it "skips a beat" - looses power for a spilt second. Sometimes it shuts off when I'm stopped. It starts up again right away. Let us know if you find the problem - I'll do the same.

Engine Missing
David Linam and dagbja,
Downunder here. I have an 03 7.3 with only 10,000 Km on it and the symptoms you describe happened to me. Occassionally missing a beat and losing power momentarily and stalling when you pull up yet would start again straight away. It took the Ford dealer some time to locate the fault but they replaced the injector control sensor and it has been fine since. That's what they told me anyway. Perhaps Marc could comment on this.
