bent push rods
I have a 99 powerstroke. I had a problem with the engine and scanned it coming up with a problem with cylinder #3. I pulled the rocker cover and found a bent push rod. Replaced and ran it for about 1000 miles. Then had another problem. Scanner said cylinder #1. Pulled it and found a broken push rod and a rocker arm cracked on one side and separated on the other.
It might just be a coincident but this happened shortly after I installed the Striker I performance module. I was just training it and was on #7 and I was accelerating for the first occurence. The second time I was on #2 and going up a hill. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

I have a similar issue, I was towing a car on a open trailer and hit the gas a few times to get on the highway and pass people and then the truck started missing and blowing white smoke. A friend scanned it and it said #7 inj./ or cyl, so he took the valve cover off and it had a bent push rod and broken rocker. I am hoping it was due to over revving maybe or because i didn't change my oil recently?
Any input why? Thanks |
