truck started "missing" while driving up hill today
Aloha...long time lurker first time poster. Thanks in advance for any help you guys give me.
I was driving up a hill today and my truck started "missing" like it was starving for fuel. I turned around, started going downhill and it started running ok again. I came to another hill and it did the same thing, started shuttering and missing as i pushed the pedal down more. It never died but came close. I drove 15 miles home, changed the fuel filter and it is still acting up after another test run. Seems like its starving for fuel under a load or when it shifts to higher gears, 4th and overdrive. Also, the fuel gauge doesnt seem to be accurate, It's been like that for months now. This happened before and i changed the fuel filter and it fixed it. But ever since then it seems like if i let the tank get to about 10 gallons left or so it will act up and start missing again. So i just always made sure i never went below half tank or about 200 miles before i filled up again. I have a full tank now, still having the problem. THANKS 808-345-5466 |

fuel pump? fuel pickup?
When fuel pumps are faulty do they just fail completly or can they operate like this...i drove for miles and miles of flat ground just fine. It was only when i started going up hills and needing more fuel...... |

my truck is doing the exact same thing and i think my pickup valve is the problem i believe it fell off...i can't run my truck below a quarter tank or else it will "run out of gas"
when i drop the tank i am going to clean all of the strainers and see if that makes a difference... |
