Loud fan noise and loss of power

I have a 2002 F-250 and recently I noticed that when it is hot outside, if I am stopped at a light when I try to accelerate all I hear is what sounds like the fan getting loud. The truck moves with that noise but it just seems like I am losing a whole lot of power to whatever that noise is. Anyone experience the same or know what the problem is. I appreciate any responses.

that noise would be your mechanical fan making the noise. Some power lose i guess but it shouldn't be that noticeable. Mine does the same thing when its really hot out.

I recently went on a supposedly 7hr trip to OBX and sat on I95 for 3hrs and had to listen to the fan scream the whole time.... It is annoying and power robbing from an idle. I wish flexalite had a conversion out for the 6.0 yet..... Its only been 7 years.
