Exclamation a/c blowing out defrost vents, rommie CRANKY HELP!!

my roomie is in construction & his boss has a 7,3, could be a 6.0, anyhow, he came home tonite in a less then civil mood. He said that the a/c was only blowing thru the defrost vents & his boss could care less, I told him i had heard something similar & would check. a cool roomie is a happy roomie. Anyone know what this is & if so, is it easy to fix, cuz he is ADDICTED to a/c & I have to bear the wrath, which, usually comes from me: being female & all

Any input is appricieated,

thanks,
LaURIE

you have a vacume leak somewhere or the vacume pump isnt working. first turn on the key and see if you hear the vacume pump working.

If you don't know what the vacuum pump sounds like, when you switch the knob from defrost, to floor, or to vent, or max a/c you'll hear a hissing sound in the dash. If no sound, vacuum pump quit. If you do hear it, its got a leak somewhere, and good luck finding it lol

Ok, I will tell him, he isn't going to be happy if his a/c is out. He asked me cuz his boss/friend doesn't care if he is Hot BUT he may care if it affects his 4wd or another system. thanks
