02 4x4 with 168K but new to me...Anyways under hard acceleration I get a check engine light that will go out after 15 mins or so. Tried to get it read with no joy...no history either. In a totally unrelated problem( or is it) my tranny seems to not shift when I think it should as in holding it in a gear when I think it should have shifted already to drop my RPM. Are they related I dont know but bothersome at the least...

my friend had a 02 7.3 that did the same thing he said it threw a over boost code cause of the mods he had done to it. boost peaked at 29psi. maybe the same thing.

maybe so I have the banks Six-Gun on it along with a banks chip.....who knows....just get nervous u know....

chipped throws the light on. The edge instruction maunual talks about it and says basically to get use to it.
as for the 29 psi boost your right a 7.3 will trip the light I think anywhere from 21 to 24 psi depends on the vehicle they differed. He would need to get a boost fooler but the only cruddy thing is I think he will no longer know what boost he is pulling unless he adds a manual guage as well because the chip will read whatever the boost fooler is set at. |

Check Engine light or Service Engine Soon light? I get a SES under hard acceleration. It is a soft code that resets itself, It does leave a code that an AutoEnginuity will read....it is just telling you that your HPOP can't deliver the fuel your engine needs now. Or at least that is what I was told.
