I ASSUME your talkin bout the 94 thru 98 7.3 so ill explain how i did it.if your trying to do this whilst your turbo is on the truck then it will be tough.take the turbo off the truck, its hard but it can be done if you want a gutted pedistal bad enuff.take the four 10mm bolts off the bottom of the pedistal(when the turbo is off of course) and remove the turbo from the pedistal.take the rod that comes from the pedistal to the turbo and unclip it,its a slide clip and will come off easily, when that is done get some snap ring pliers and take the snap ring off the one side,i took a screw driver and inserted it thru the hole the rod is comin from and tapped the round peice out that you just took the snap ring off of,that bein off pull the spring mechinism out,rod and all...now that that is done get a tap and dye set and thread the hole that the rod came thru, screw a bolt in ther.i took some of that oil pan sealer you get at ford and put some on the last 3 threads of the bolt, zipped it up in there and the covered the bolt head with the stuff.i did this because that is (imho) the best stuff out there by far.if it can keep my oil pan from leakin for 15 years then it can be used for this application.put the round metal peice back in,make sure that o-ring on it is still in good shape(there is a o-ring on the round metal peice)tapp that back in ther and put your snap ring back in and reverse the process...havin the gutted pedistal is benificial. on my turbo i was not gettin no more than 15 psi of boost with the ebpv in there, now i create somwere around 30psi,big diff if you ask me.i cant hold it there though,im afraid it will blow my hair line back an inch....so be carefull and enjoy! ohh yea,go ahead and replace the pedistal o-rings whilst your there
