oil leak

i havnt posted on here in a while. i just picked up a new (to me) 2000 f-250. the under side of the truck is cleaner than ive ever seen but there is an oil leak coming off of the starter where it meets the tranny. havnt really looked into it but wondered if it was a common thing as the leak is pretty bad.

It could also be the valve cover gasket. I know one guy that burned up 2 starters before he found out what it was.
