Stock 7.3 white smoke?

I pulled over to look at some jet skis, yesterday and as I was walking back to my truck I noticed a haze of white smoke comming from the tail pipe, I got in and when I pulled back onto the road I watched the tailpipe in the mirror and it puffed a pretty good sized cloud of white smoke, It cleared up within about two seconds and it hasnt done it since then, does anybody have any ideas what could have caused that to happen? The truck is a 2000 f-250 all stock
