6 bad injectors?

Took the truck into the shop because it didnt like to start easily without the block heater (crank crank crank crank run miss miss miss shake shake shake). Mechanic says 2 bad injectors. I say ok and he replaced them. Got the truck back and it definatly made a huge difference on the starting part. Truck starts just fine without the block heater now but it still shakes and misses until it gets warm and i get it on the road and step into it. Once down the road it clears up and theres no more misses and all is fine. (i still now have it on the block heater to avoid the misses and shakes) Needing the truck to run better in the morning i took it back to the shop and the mechanic tells me i have 4 more injectors that are bad... is there anything else i should be looking at besides the injectors? GP's ohm fine, gpr relay is working, new fuel filter, new oil. I find it hard to believe that he only found 2 dead injectors and within 2 weeks time another 4 dropped out. The mechanic told me my vc gaskets were fine.

Small amount of white smoke on startup

Anyone know much about the dyi injector rebuild kit from rosewood? I know i can do it myself, im just not sure if its worth it.. say maybe some of the injectors are going to need more parts than just whats in the kit.

When it rains - it pours. You wouldn't expect the injectors to be bad with 138k - I wonder if it could just be bad injector o-rings. It might be worth replacing them, and just visually checking the tips for carbon build up while you've got them off. How much is the rebuild kit? If you are doing the labor yourself - all you've got to lose is parts.
