Injector #8 failed Cont. test
Hey,
Today I did a buzz test on a cyl. Cont. test. Buzz test passed, and all injectors sounded the same. Then I ran a cyl cont test, and the TE scanner said the test would last 4 minutes, and only lasted about 1 min, and thena screen came up and said Cyl. 8 failed. The main mechanic at the shop said Cyl. 8 fails most of the time, and it may not be a big deal. I can not hear a missfiring. another problem is blow by. I see some smoke coming out of my oil fill tube when I add oil when it is running. I also get enough smoke while at a stop, I can see it coming out from my wheel well. I did move the CCV tube to dump under the driver side leaf spring. No related codes came up. I am still wondering about MPG. I just got 13.2 MPG. Not sure if that is good for a 99.5 CC LB 4x4 dually auto truck that wieghs close to 10k. gears are 4.10 Stock for the most part. Thanks for the help... |

Mileage isn't too bad for that size truck.
Don't worry about the injector, it's a long lead. Mine has never passed. I don't like the sounds of the blow by. Can you flip the cap over and set it on the fill tube and it won't blow off? |

umm.. some how it creadted 2 threads..... I tried that, and the cap moved because of viration. I did find a plastic cup and placed over the tube, and it did not move or let the smoke out, so I am guessing the blow by is not that bad yet....
