SES light is on with no codes showing up!

My 2001 truck runs great, I just had the 4 trouble codes that state I have a problem with the glow plugs on the driver side. I fixed that with 8 new glow plugs and new harness's under the valve covers. I reset the codes and now the SES light still stays on. I read it and there are no codes. I am using 10,000 dollar snap on code reader. Why is this light still on? I have zero issues with the truck from what I can tell. Any help would be great.

I know this is caveman technology - but unplug both your batteries for half an hour and try again. The only thing I can think of is that the scanner isn't clearing an IDM code or a transmission code when you clear the PCM codes. The battery unplug should clear all codes - P.S. - I know where you could have got a scanner a little cheaper (AutoEnginuity - less than 400 - you could have bought a new truck with what was left over)

Just so you know I didn't buy the snap on code reader. It is the local shops. Anyway last night when I got home I disconnected the batteries. When I get home today after work I will hook them back up and see if my light is finally off, for good.
