help
Hey guys,
Hadn't been on here in a while luckily haven't had any issues but i have 2 that i need help with. 1: when it is colder and normally in the mornings after i crank up and run to my office i notice a small puddle of fuel under the truck i have visually checked the lines as well as filter and basin and can't find a leak but it still continues. when it gets warmer outside this goes away. 2: when i steer hard to right or left i get sort of a weird thunking sound i just had the tires replaced cause i thought one of them had a bad spot but it still continues and the tires aren't scrubbing anywhere. this is a 2002 ford 7.3 250 4x4 it has around 250k on it. it is pretty much stock the only things i have done is a diablosport programmer, cold air, and straight pipe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. you can reach me via email @ crs4320@bellsouth.net i dont't have much computer access during the day but my emails will go to my phone. thanks in advance |

The fuel under the truck is consistent with o-rings in the fuel drain valve. Yours may be marginal, leaking when cold and not when they are warm. Its an easy fix. Get the parts here and instructions are included:
Replacement O-rings for Ford Diesel Engines As to the thunk, it is most likely something shifting under the load of turning - I would suggest getting under there and checking ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings and the like. If that isn't it, it could be the u-joints up front. Good luck on your search. |
