Overboost and EBV codes

A guy I know is wanting me to tinker with his truck to get the an overboost code and a ebv code. It's running the ebv code because the ebv is messed up and he unpluged it, the overboost idk, it's an 01 and he is running a 4 inch exhaust, an afe intake I think he modded a little bit, and banks ottomind with a banks wastegate

What i'm thinking is telling him to throw the banks crap away and put a custom tune flip chip, and I suggested dp, I like my dp, but I also said tw or power hungry with that live tune stuff, do u guys think this would be a good route to start with, the ebv is wide open btw, I can't convince him to replace the ebv so yeah...

I think you are right to go with the DP tunes. Jody has programs that will ignore the overboost code. As far as the EBV code, you need to get him to buy a terminator that will supply the PCM with a value that is within range. Here is an example:
