97 amp draw
My amp meter on my 97 F350 dually 7.3 shows a huge amp draw on cold mornings. The amp meter shows a bad discharge for about 2 minutes after the engine starts. This only happens on cold mornings and not when the engine has warmed up. I have new batteries and new alternator. During this discharge the engine runs fine. It also does not start well if it is below 40 degrees. Any ideas?

Your amp draw is the 24 volt glow plug system in action. Once the temperature is up in the cylinders, your system reverts power to the 12 volt system. This is normal. There are so many reasons that you coluld be having starting problems. I would check the fuel filter first and work your way up. thx
