Throttle not working?

every so often i will be driving and my gas petal will stop working and the check engine light will come off but after pumping the petal a few times it will work again and the light will turn off. it does it even when the programer is off. i have a 00 f-250 7.3, edge evolution programer. any one have this problem or know how to fix it?

Do a search on the pedal position sensor - there is a way to place an ohmmeter on the leads and watch for smooth operation. They can go out and either have a dead spot, or quit working altogether. Other people have seen this when their chip isn't seating properly.
