Is the price right?

Having really hard starts on the cold mornings - lots and lots of smoke, really rough idle - once warmed up it runs like a champ.

Took it in and mechanic gave me a recommendation to replace glow plugs and injector o-rings for $1200

Does this sound right on the price?

Are you at all mechanically inclined? You could save yourself a grand if you did it yourself.
