seems loader than normal
hey guys i new here and i dont know much about diesels. the problem is that when i get to about 2200 rpms it seems like the turbo sounds differnt than when it did in the summer time. i also notice a smell through the vents when i first take off driving. i let it warm up till it reaches the first normal line. the smell is only there intill it gets out of warm up mode. i have checked for leaks on the up pipes and i dont see anything noticable. i am lost please help!!

First of all welcome to the org. When your turbo and oil is cold your truck will sound different. As you know, different metals expand and react to heat at different temperatures at different times. I have noticed the same thing with my truck. What is the smell like? During the "warm up" mode your EBPV is closed to attempt to heat your engine up more quickly. By doing this it is actually restricting the amount of exhaust that is actually exiting your vehicle (to heat it up more quickly). If your truck is in "warm up" mode you do not want to drive it hard or you can float a valve. I hope this helps bud
