NO fuel in fuel bowl!

So its late and Im tired of searching can anyone help me? Ive replaced cps checked the ipr and so on and have traced my problem to the tank, Im guessing, cause even a new fuel pump isnt pulling fuel to the bowl. Is there anything else that wouldnt allow fuel to the bowl or should I drop my tank and check the pickup and screens? any help will be greatly appreciated! THANKS!!!

well either that or a hole in the line causing the pump to suck air, or a hole in the pickup tube assembly causing the same

While we had the lines off the pump we inserted a small hose and blew air through it with minimal restriction and could hear fuel bubble in the tank. Not sure if that means anything

Could the new pump just be no-good?

no we put a brand new unit with the same results

Did you cycle the key several times after changing the pump?

Also, I don't know if this helps but for whatever reason my truck ran out of fuel when I still had a few gallons in it. It hasn't done it since but it wouldn't start until I put more fuel in.

No I didnt but was told the pump was only supposed to run for a couple of seconds and it ran for a go 20+ sec figured that shld be sufficent time to get fuel out but Im prolly wrong and we only had the line hooked to the back of the pump should we of had the whole system hooked up for it to work? Im new to the whole diesel thing and not sure what the hell im doin but when you dont have the mny to pay someone you gotta do what you gotta do lol

I would try cycling the key a couple more times and see if you can get any out. Having the output side disconnected will not affect it. How much fuel is in the tank?

It was low on fuel, but no lite yet, when it died on me. I thought maybe it was just a lazy fuel guage so I added 10 gal of diesel and still nothing

Is there any mods I should do while I'm fiddlin in the tank?
