Cranks-No Start, Then it does. Help!
I've been reading a lot of threads and posts but don't see anything the matches my problem.
I'll drive somewhere. Stop for a few minutes to 30 minutes and then it'll crank like crazy but won' start. This has happened 5 or 6 times this year and twice this month the last being yesterday. I've checked fuses, pushed/pulled harness connectors, checked battery connections, load tested batteries(checked ok). After about 20-30 minutes it'll start and run out just fine like nothing ever happened. OF course it won't do it at the shop. Anyone have or know of a similar experience that can help? Will a CPS fail intermittently?'03 F-350 7.3 AT 4x4 LWB CC, 137k miles, All Stock. Thanks for your help. |

Absolutely, in fact, that's the way Most do fail!
First thing I'd do is replace the CPS, sounds the likely problem.... (you should have a spare in the glove compartment, if not, get two while you're at it! )

Thanks. I'll get 2 or 3. We also have an '03 F-250 7.3 with 140k. I just haven't had some of the other problems others have described which makes me wonder. It doesn't run rough or stall while driving. ONLY after stopping and shutting off. Oh well for the money its an easy starting point. From what I've read Ford is the only place to get them vs. aftermarket? Thanks.
