Let me join the game!! 2000 wont turn over.

Alright I read all the way back to page 15 looking for a thread that best described my problem! Read NCHornet sticky. Best of my knowledge or what I can gather is I probably need to get a new starter, see what yall think.
This morning I had my truck plugged up (22 degrees) got in and it started up just fine. Went to work and it sat out in the cold unplugged for 13 hours. Get in it and turn the key and wait for the GPs to do thier thing. Wait about a min and turn the key. Nada!!! did not even try to hit. All accersories work but tried to jump it off and tapped on the starter and the starter solenoid, which by the way found out that there is definately power down there, dont ask how I know, but my left hand is still tingling a little. Anyway still nothing. So what do U think, need a new starter? Any suggestions

RR

Remove starter, have it bench tested. But most likely you will need a new starter.

If you have a battery charger. You can bench test it yourself.

Remove starter, hook negative cable to the starter I usually put it where the bolt hole is. Then while holding the starter down to the bench. I usually use a ratchet strap to my work bench. Put the positive cable to the big bolt. If the starter spins then the starter is good. If the starter doesn't spin then you need to replace it.

Thanks going to bed got to be up at 330 to head back to work. Taking the lil man (F150) in the morning. If it will start.. Check back b-4 I leave. Will try to check at work if I get the time. Probably try to take it off after work and take it to the store. Anyone know anything about Powermaster starters, or Remy they any good.

Well got it going. It was a double whammy, probably started out with the starter going bad. Changed the starter, on the bench on after the bendex engaged the bearings would squeal something awful. Then the solenid on the right fender well has to be replaced. Cross jumped it and it started just fine.
