Slow throttle response when cold, lots of blue/white smoke at wot anytime
I have a 1995 psd with 4sp auto. When it is cold it takes more time than usual to rev up. As you rev up the turbo will all of a sudden start spooling and you will get plenty of power and a large amount of blue/white smoke. The truck has no modifications. Engine oil was just changed. So was fuel pump which was leaking also new fuel filter. Any help would be appreciated. I have a scan tool and have done several tests and can look at data stream.

How cold is cold? Remember, diesel motors are heat motors. Your EBPV might be working if it's cold outside until the truck warms up.
Smoke colors? Maybe some bad fuel? |

Sounds normal to me. The smoke should be light blue to white when cold. When the truck reaches operating temp, everything should be normal. If not, then you may have a problem.
