Dirty oil?

Will dirty oil cause a psd to be hard to start? this may sound like a stupid ? but a buddy of mine swears that it will.

it could...it'd have to be pretty dirty tho....HEUI runs off the engine oil, so it is possible. they like clean oil......

The injectors are hydraulically actuated, if I remember right. Dirty oil might lead to improper fuel delivery, which I'd guess cause starting issues.

I always knew they would idle rough when oil was dirty.

probably wont help, if sludge starts to build up i suppose it could cause it to start poorly.
