intake or waste gate problem?

i got an 02 f-250, 7.3L powerstroke. when the motor is cold and hold rpms goin down the road or in the driveway in park a loud hissing noise coming from engine, if u get on it no power for a while then tons of boost and it takes off, when the truck is at normal operating temp runs like a top no problems. got a couple oppinons that rubber boot clamps on intake may be loose but tightned them and nuthing, hear mabye a waste gate messin up ur sum temp sensor? i dont know a whole lot about the diesel yet but just bought this beast and im learning.

im no 7.3's expert but im pretty sure its the epbv closing they close to help it warm up faster

where is that located?

ya let her sit for atleast ten minutes if its below 40 degrees. 7.3l love to let to be warmed up. check for your seals going out also. try plugging her in in the morning before you crank for ten minutes also, there is a plug under the bumper on the driver side of the bumber, just a normal extension cord will work. heats up the engine block, might help whatever is sticking to stop.

no its not normal but until you can take to a mechanic who can run soem test on your waste gate and blowby.. id plug her in, maybe even overnight, and also once you crank let her sit. how cold is it when this is happening

the ebpv valve closing for warm up is normal

.. im talking about the fact that its not normal to do that after warm up of atleast 2 minutes

it sets in the heated building thats around 50 degrees, it does it until its all the way towards the middle of the operating rang, i do leave it set and run for about 5 or 10 mins
