Block heater cord sparkage!!
So my dad just came in the house and told me he went to unplug my truck and the cord started to like shoot sparks averywhere as if u were welding something... anybody know what this may mean? Can you just replace the cord for the heater? Any other problems this may cause or this happen to anyone else before?

Spark's pretty normal actually....
If the cord was cut through and shorted somewhere I would hope it would have tripped the breaker on that circuit. Take a close look at everything (truck cord & extension cord) and plug/unplug it yourself to see where the spark's comming from. If it's the trucks "prongs" going into the extension cord jumping a spark, I think that's what I expect to see when pulling apart a 10amp load... The cord IS replaceable if it turns out to be bad. |
