miss when cold runs fine when warm

i have a 02 f-350... has 190k and runs fine while warm. just started getting cold here and if the air temp is under 40 deg F in the morning when i crank it up it will skip. no smoke of any color.
if i let it warm up on its own it will slowly loose the skip and idle fine.
if i rev it up a few times the skip will clear up and run fine.
if i take off up the road it will clear up.

if it is warmer in the morning it starts and runs fine.

any ideas?
