rough idle

i have a 2001 f-350 with about 128,000 on it. about a month ago at 127,000 i did an oil change. I used the same filter i had always used a fram tuff gourd filter but i used shell rotela synthetic 5w-40 instead of shell rotella 15w-40. i noticed after maybe 5 minutes a rough idle when not moving rpm gage doesn't change but you can feel it and hear it change. it was fine before the oil change but now it does this rough idle thing. the check engine light is on but it has always been on before the oil change haven't gotten aether of the recalls done yet ether. could this be due to the oil or a bigger problem.
