HPOP going out ?!?

I need some expert advice on whether you'll think my HPOP is going out on my 99 PSD or if I just need injectors. It's having two main symptoms. When I turn my EDGE up to level 5 the truck will buck and kick roughly like it's running out of fuel, but if I only run it on level 4 or under it does fine. Secondly I've been having a noticible slightly rough idle from time to time and even a slight miss on ocassion. Do you'll think it's an HPOP going out or just some injectors misfiring? Thanks

I would check fuel filters and fuel pressure first.

Check the fuel pressure then, Ive had similar problems and usually its caused by fuel pressure. I hope its an easy fix for you.

Just because you changed the filter 4,000mi ago doesn't mean it''s OK now

You might have gotten a "dirty" load of fuel along the way...

It doesn't really blow any unusual smoke. Actually, out of the four powerstrokes I've owned, this one will hardly even roll any coal compared to the other. Yet another reason I think the HPOP isn't putting out enough fuel.

You DO know the HPOP doesn't put out the fuel itself right? I think I know what you mean just making sure

If the HPOP pressure is low it'll throw a code. If you can pull em, you should get an answer.

I'm aware that the HPOP isn't the fuel pump. I just always hear about people's HPOPs going out or having them upgraded. But, I just wasn't sure if my problems met the criteria of an HPOP problem.

ok I figured you did. Just makin sure. Sometimes if you run a tune and bigger injectors it just can't push enough oil to fire them properly.
