need help!!!

hello, i have a 2000 powerstroke, i recently replaced the turbo, because it was smoking heavily. when i took the turbo off i didn't know that there was a linkage on the EBPV, i bent it up pretty good. i think it's straight now, but now i have major running problems with it. hard time starting, it has to warm up to operating temp before it will drive, and if i plug it in it will run ok. it never did this until i replaced the turbo. the glow plug system checks out ok, i don't know what to do. can it be the that i screwed something up on the pedestal when i took the bad turbo off?

I'm no expert but it sounds like your EBPV valve is not working correctly. Probably due to the bent rod or it was damaged when the rod was bent. From what I have read it helps the motor warm up by restricting the exhaust.
Search the forum for info on the EBPV.
Good luck...
