Fuel Tanks
Well I seem to have a problem. Fuel take switch doesn't switch from front to rear. What is a more common problem the switch or the valve? Is there a easy check? Thanks...

I have known a few valves to go bad. Have you checked your fuses? And does the fuel gauge swap when you flip the switch?

No gauge reads off the back tank.

That makes me think it is the switch or sending unit. If the valve was hung and switch good, the gauge should change, but still pull of of the same tank. Have you tried to see witch tank it is pulling from? Fill both tanks to top and run a fwe days on rear tank, then refill before swaping the switch to see if it pulled from the rear tank or front. Next try running on the front tank an do the same thing. This is just an idea, but i has a down side. If it turns out that the valve is working, then you will probably have to drop the front tank to replace the sender. You will have to drain a full tank or drive it out before doing the repair.

I found out about the problem the hard way. I took a trip to conn. ran out my 220 miles flip the switch and gauge read empty. I learned I could put 240 miles on the tank. LOL So iI stopped at the next station spent $2.89. Front tank was full and the rear was empty. I had the switch on the front and it read and drained the rear.(lucky) So I guess i'll start with the switch. Thanks
