Vacuum Pump Replacement

Hey all. I was driving to Palm Desert yesterday and my a/c vents stopped working except for the defrost ones. Talked to a buddy and he said the electric vacuum pump either went out or has a leak etc.

Long story short, the fuse blew out. It looks like a battery might have exploded awhile back and theres corrosion on the terminals and the guy that check it out said the vacuum pump has corrosion on it too which might've made it blow the fuse. He put a 15 amp fuse in there and said that should help it but that the electric vacuum pump needs to be replaced.

My question is everyone I've talked to wants to charge $200 for the pump plus $90 and hour to fix it even though everyone has said it'll only take 5 minutes.

First question is: I found one on ebay for $100. Does this look legit? It doesn't say OEM which I'm not thrilled about. 01 02 Ford F350 SD V8 7.3L Diesel Electric Vacuum Pump:eBay Motors (item 310160512121 end time Sep-06-09 17:15:38 PDT)

Also, is there a write-up somewhere on replacing the pump or can someone tell me what the basic steps are?

Thanks,

Clint

Thanks for the post. Looks pretty easy. What do you think about the link for the ebay part? Look OEM/legit?
