Hard start, runs rough, then smooths out

I've got an 01 F450 with a 7.3. The truck is very difficult to start. Once it starts it runs poorly (like it has air in the system). After ten miles or so it runs perfect all day. Any ideas?

I HAD THE SAME problem,then i changed the cam sensor ( for the 2nd time) and the problem went away. I also have seen on here about not to use the black one but only my luck thats all i can get in my area. all auto parts stores, dealer and international dealer has black one . what should i do.

Thanks. I've been thinking its some sort of fuel pressure bleed off, as it acts just like an engine that has been run out of fuel. But, if you had the same symptom, I'll give it a try. If it doesn't do the trick, I'll have a spare sensor, which I'm sure I'll need at some point.
