Question Riddle me this check engine light

So, We just got back from Nevada 30 minutes ago from picking up our 02 F350 with the 7.3. Had a great trip. We saw Hot August Nights, not planned for but just happened that way, popped a tire , went to Cabelas, lost a belt tension pulley . So, it was eventful, went threw 3 states in 24 hrs .

Anyways, My dad was driving the truck and we noticed that every time we started the truck, the check engine light was on. It would then go away after we got under way and got to about 1500+ rpm. So, is this normal, or are we talking something more serious. And the oil pressure gauge doesn't move from half way between Low and High. Thanks for you help

The oil pressure gauge sounds normal but there are many things the check engine light could be!
